Resident Evil 7 AU:The incident in Dulvey left a lasting scar on Ethan that still haunts him to this day.Rather than saving Mia in the original canon, in this AU, Ethan chose to save Zoe Baker instead.Having grown mistrustful of Mia and her unwillingness to share what she knew of the incident in question, Ethan gave the last remaining shot to Zoe and promised to return with help.En route to safety, Zoe revealed that Mia was the one that brought Eveline to the Baker estate, but before she could reveal anything else, their boat was attacked and capsized, leaving Ethan to believe Zoe was dead.During his escape from the ship after Mia freed him from the Mould, Ethan was forced to kill Mia to protect himself, unaware that the Connections now had eyes on him as their next potential test subject.Mere months after being taken into protective custody with the BSAA, the Connections, having learned of his Mould infection through careful monitoring of the incident in Dulvey, sent a clone of Mia they had created purely for the purposes of monitoring Ethan's condition and reporting back on his progress as a potential Mould bioweapon.The clone infiltrated his life under the guise that destroying Eveline reversed the damage done and Ethan, believing the BSAA and the fake Mia's story, decided not to question it and proceeded with creating a new life with her in Eastern Europe.When the clone of Mia gave birth to Rosemary, she was eventually abducted by Miranda and killed so Miranda herself could take the fake Mia's place in order to steal Rose.

Resident Evil Village AU:In choosing to stay behind to give Chris a chance to escape with Rose, Ethan had every intention of dying in the ceremony site that cold day in February when he pulled the trigger.What he hadn't known was that operatives from the new Umbrella Corporation run by "Arias" had been tailing him since his arrival in the village with the intention of saving him; from himself and the mould.The Duke had once had frequent dealings with the late arms dealer Glenn Arias, the latter having left an item with the merchant with the intention of picking it up at a later time to gift to his daughter, Amanda, but Glenn would never return to the village to retrieve it.Instead, years down the line, Amanda herself would be the one to retrieve the item, a customized Desert Eagle pistol, when she arrived in the village with Albert Wesker to gather new mould samples to further their Dulvey related prototype vaccine.It was the through the Duke that Umbrella learned of Ethan's mould infection, and in the hopes of being able to test the prototype vaccine on him, Amanda choose to deviate from the initial plan to locate him.When it became apparent the situation was drawing unwanted BSAA attention, Umbrella ended up on the outskirts of things for the duration of the events of Ethan's trials with Miranda and the Four Lords, tailing Ethan for any chance they could find to administer the prototype vaccine to him. only to be met with roadblocks once Chris and his unit arrived, forcing them to retreat until Ethan's final encounter with Miranda.Witnessing Ethan's potential demise after Miranda's defeat, Amanda had Wesker step in to grab Ethan before the resulting explosion could kill him and the megamycete.The two ended up taking cover in the waters of a cavern below the ceremony site when a path opened up from the resulting explosions.Upon recovery by Umbrella's units, Ethan was injected with the prototype mould vaccine preventing any further deterioration of his body and allowing him a chance to heal by the time they reached Umbrella's facilities.To further aid in his recovery, Ethan underwent a series of tests and surgical procedures to restore a great deal of his body that had been injured or decayed from the mould during his search for Rose, the prototype mould vaccine having behaved much like the DEVIL vaccine created for the Golgotha virus.Despite the success of the prototype vaccine in stalling the decay and calcification process, Ethan remained infected.Fearing that he could be a contagious carrier under the right circumstances, and having grown ever more mistrustful when he learned the Mia he'd been living with was a clone sent to monitor him, Ethan made the choice to let people believe he died in the village.Until Umbrella could devise a cure for him, Ethan would take up work as their systems engineer, managing the entire catalogue of Umbrella's bioweapons and vaccines under the condition that he be allowed to see Rose when and if it was ever safe to do so.With his military training from the BSAA's witness protection coupled with his mould enhancements, Ethan does occasionally assist with the acquisition of samples, data and bioweapons for Arias and Wesker, acting primarily as the company's communications and mould specialist while in the field.

Shadows of Rose related:Thanks to the prototype mould vaccine, Ethan has harnessed much greater control over the mould within his body, developing new abilities the more he looked into the old research from the Baker incident and learned how to utilize it to his benefit.These days, Ethan is capable of using the spores or fungal roots of the mould for various purposes; things such as to "see" what mould infected creatures are within his immediate vicinity or to witness things that happened within the lifetime of the mould in any given area by accessing the "memories" within, the latter something he uses from time to time to feel Rose's presence in the world just to know that she's okay.Additionally, Ethan is also capable of manifesting a sort of "spirit" version of himself within fragments of the megamycete. This is something he does in search of Miranda's research from the memories of her stored within the fungal root to help further the mould vaccine in production.It was during one of his missions within a fragment that he'd learned of Miranda's leftover conscience trying to recreate Rose within the stratums of the fragments until she could lure the real Rose within to take her body for Eva.Knowing this, Ethan worked tirelessly to strengthen himself and his power, seeking out ways within the stratums to boost his own power and enable him to manifest himself in every stratum when the day came to protect Rose from Miranda again.His own exploits within the conscience of the megamycete allowed him to find various means to escape and things that may aid Rose should she need the extra help, something that ended up becoming necessary when Rose was lured with the promise of a crystal that could erase her powers.Though hesitant to let her stay, Ethan ultimately decided to take on a guiding role, only forcing himself to manifest physically when it became apparent Rose needed him more than his words of encouragement.
After helping Rose defeat Miranda and escape, Ethan has had to take a step back from venturing within the conscience of the megamycete to recover the strength he lost during the ordeal and rebuild the power he gave to Rose at the time to help her.When making use of his power, his eyes take on a golden colour and a golden vein-like pattern appears on his skin similar to what happens with Rose when she's using her own powers.

He works with Arias in secret because she is working on a cure for his virus, informally dubbed the "h-Virus". He's the only known carrier of it. May be made mention of if he happens to come up in conversation, but Wesker and Arias keep his involvement with them to a minimum for his sake.

Wesker may make mention of his "partner" from time to time. This is the person that purchased his body from locals when he was pulled from the ocean in Africa after the fight with Chris and Sheva.He may not always mention them by name, but may occasionally bring up their last name in conversation if something prompts it.His "partner" is an arms dealer by the name of Amanda Arias; the adopted daughter of the late arms dealer Glenn Arias.She took up her fathers company when the estate was passed on to her in her brothers absence, using the funds left behind to amass as much of the bioweapons market under her name as she possibly could, claiming she was "taking them all off the market".Everything she does is reported to the BSAA and the DSO, with the exception of anything relating to Wesker in order to protect him.She has a vast knowledge of him and Project Wesker, having been used in Tricell's early experiments and found immune to everything.She was not directly involved with Uroboros, but she knew of it and its intended purpose, however because she was only 18 at the time and technically one of the missing persons, the BSAA released her when she'd been apprehended in one of Tricell's labs.
